This one is about zeitgeist...
( means "The spirit of the time")
Many people take a pride in proclaiming that they are or were ahead of their times. Well, Niraj don't. Simply because, Niraj feels that he is actually behind his time by some 20-30 years.
Yeah, he would have liked to live through the late sixties and seventies as young man and there are several reasons for that. Fancy some of them.
  • Atheist are quite out of fashion and Niraj is one. At one point of time, people were expecting that all rational people would turn to atheism by the the end of millennium. But of course, they were overesimating the power of human rationality.
  • Everything is a bit too commercialised for Niraj's taste.
  • Religion is interfering too much in our lives.
  • Then there is concept of metro-sexuality. C'mon, how can someone like men with lipsticks and eye-liner.
  • Now-a-days if you don't belong to any dogma, you would find yourself quite alone. Confirmation is an obsession with the present generation. Even the mavericks of this age expound their their theory of being "maverick". How can somebody pay to learn the "art of living".
Then he discovered the song called "GOD" by one of the biggest maverick of all time John Lennon.
And, it goes like this:
God is a Concept by which we measure our pain
I'll say it again
God is a Concept by which we measure our pain
I don't believe in magic
I don't believe in I-ching
I don't believe in Bible
I don't believe in Tarot
I don't believe in Hitler
I don't believe in Jesus
I don't believe in Kennedy
I don't believe in Buddha
I don't believe in Mantra
I don't believe in Gita
I don't believe in Yoga
I don't believe in Kings
I don't believe in Elvis
I don't believe in Zimmerman
I don't believe in Beatles
I just believe in me...and that reality
The dream is over
What can I say?
the Dream is Over
Yesterday
I was the Dreamweaver
But now I'm reborn
I was the Walrus
But now I'm John
and so dear friends
you'll just have to carry on
The Dream is over
And Niraj fell in love with it. But alas, Lennon is no more and it is no more in fashion to believe in his lyrics. Thought listening to him (without believing in it, of course) is in fashion.
Sometimes, God (oops.., Niraj doesn't belive in him) is so lazy.
